Description

Please note - this is a redesigned smaller profile variety of these bridges than what we had previously sold.

This is a set of two handcrafted Black Walnut cigar box guitar bridges, designed by C. B. Gitty specifically for use on "stick on box" cigar box guitars. We call this model the "Flying Bridge" because it goes up an over a standard 3/4" x 1 1/2"  cigar box guitar neck, so that the string vibration is transferred down to the box lid, giving much louder volume and better tone than when the bridge rests on the neck itself. These are perfect for 3 and 4-string cigar box guitars, and can be customized with string grooves for any configuration. These are hand-made in the U.S.A - laser cut and milled in the C. B. Gitty Workshops in New Hampshire.

The approximate dimensions of each bridge is: 2 7/8" wide by 1/4" thick by 1 5/16" tall. The neck cutout size is 1 13/16" wide by just over 7/8" tall, which should accomodate a standard 1 x 2 board just fine, especially after i thas been finish sanded. You can of course sand them down as needed if you have different size requirements.

These bridges have been rough-sanded and may require a bit more finish sanding to suit your needs. They are also unfinished, and can be treated with linseed oil or other finishes (or painted) as needed. Edges will be darkened, a remnant of the laser cutting process - this darkened layer can be sanded off if desired.

We also offer these in Hard Maple.
