Description
This one-of-a-kind guitar features original artwork by C. B. Gitty crew member Danny Woodman, who made the boxes out of scrap wood left over from our own shop. He then turned his rustic musical instrument into a one-of-a-kind work of art by adding his original hand-painted design, which commemorates a beautiful steam locomotive that is still in operation, the Strasburg Railroad's 4-8-0 "Mastodon" number 475. This mighty engine was built in 1906 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and still regularly pulls passenger trains between Strasburg and Paradise, Pennsylvania. Danny has actually ridden in the cab of this mighty machine, which inspired him to build this unique guitar.
This unique, artistic instrument is fully playable and would be perfect for the train enthusiast in your life!
Best of all is the affordable price on this hand-crafted-in-the-USA piece of musical art.

About the Builder
Danny has been working in the woodshop at C. B. Gitty for several years, helping to create the necks, fretboards, guitar parts and other Made-in-the-USA items that we proudly manufacture and sell all around the world.
In addition to building and playing his own cigar box guitars, he has been an active musician for many years, taking part in various jam sessions in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire and Southern Maine, as well as performing paid gigs.
He plays conventional guitar, mandolin and harmonica in addition to three-string cigar box guitars, and has also written a large number of original songs. He has a large repertoire of folk, rock, country and old-time songs, in addition to many Irish and Scottish traditional favorites.
In additional to making music, Danny is an avid railfan and model railroader. He also works to help raise awareness about the challenges faced by people on the autism spectrum.
He carries a great deal of pride in his work at C. B. Gitty and in these guitars he builds.
