"Street Rod" Illustrated 3-pole Cigar Box Guitar Pickup - choose wiring options
Scatter-wound by hand, one-at-a-time right here in the C. B. Gitty workshop. Fully tested and ready to transform your cigar box guitar into a heirloom-grade tone MONSTER.
These drop-in style pickups were designed with cigar box guitars in mind! Designed, wound and assembled right here in the C. B. Gitty workshops, these screamin' little single-coils have three poles and spec out at around 3.4KOhm impedance. They have a classic single-coil tone that is both bright but with a warm, rich foundation - much like the Fender single-coils of the late 1960's. These are scatter-wound by hand and feature Alnico 5 poles.
The demo below gives you an idea of what this series of pickups sound like (a different model is shown in the demo, only the top plate design is different).
This design features an thin birch ply top plate, with a custom full-color "Vivigraphic" print of a classic muscle car (Chevy Camaro Super Sport). This style of printing applies the ink directly onto the surface of the wood, and then instantly cures it via UV light, creating a high-detail and very durable finish. The parts of the pickup top that don't have ink on them are unfinished wood, so these pickups can be oiled, stained, dyed or otherwise finished as desired.
These pickups are meant to be mounted to the soundboard of a cigar box guitar, with the bottom part going down through a cut hole. The top plate of the pickup is 3.125" (79.4mm) wide x 1.875" (47.6mm) tall by 0.11" (2.8mm) thick. The bottom plate of the bobbin is 2.81" (71.4mm) x 0.75" (19mm), and the overall height of the pickup is 0.656 inches (16.7mm). The recommended hole size to cut in your box top is 2" x 0.875" (51mm x 22mm). Pole spacing (center to center) is 0.50" (12.7mm), with total distance (center to center) of pole 1 to pole 3 being 1 inch (25.4mm).
Due to the hand-crafted nature of these pickups, in times of high demand there may be a lead time of a few days before we'll be able to ship them.
