Description

If you're looking for a unique option to add to your slide collection, you don't want to miss this one! In the years that we've been doing this, we've seen slides come in many different materials. Ceramic, Stainless, Brass, Glass, Copper... but this is one of the few we've found at a reasonable price made from a solid piece of cow bone! We custom order these specially dyed to a nice pale icy blue color, and with beveled edges for playing comfort.

These slides are made from real cow bone. They measure in at approximately 1 7/8" (43mm) in length, but the length may vary slightly from piece to piece. Due to being a natural product, the side walls of these slides can vary somewhat in thickness. As an example, the one in the listing photo got as narrow as 3/16" and as thick as 1/4" (between 5 and 7.5mm). They are somewhat small on the inside 11/16" (~18mm), making them better as a pinky slide for folks with larger fingers. The surface of some slides may have some marks left over from the smoothing and production process - this gives them a bit of "bite" for more of a "growly" sound when laying, if desired, you can polish them smooth with fine-grit sandpaper if desired. There may be small pockmarks and occlusions in some as well, as a feature of natural bone material. The slides have been polished smooth, with some textures of the bone looking like wood when dyed.
