Things to know about this smart phone amplifier before buying:
This is a real wood cigar box which once held cigars, and there may be slight variations from box to box. All of the original art remains on the box, including an illustration of a bare-breasted female on the inside lid (this is part of the Fuente Company's company seal). The smart phones and cables shown in the listing photos are NOT INCLUDED with this amp, or is the 9-volt battery. The audio connection cable that you'll need can be found anywhere phone accessories are sold, from bix box stores to Radio Shack to many sources online... many smart phone owners already have these cables, which are just basic audio cables with 3.5mm male stereo plugs on each end. Straight cables in various lengths, or a retractable type, should work fine.
We have found that this amp performs best if you turn your smart phone's output volume down to about 1/2 to 3/4 of full power, turn the amp volume all the way up, and then fine-tune the sound using the tone/gain control. Full volume out of the smart phone can overpower the speaker and cause distortion.
Average battery life at full volume is around 5 hours, depending on the strength of battery used.
