"Mississippi Mud" Ceramic Stubby Guitar Slide by Evolution Stonewear

These beautiful slides are handmade by veteran potter, artist and cigar box guitar builder, Janis Wilson Hughes of Evolution Stoneware Pottery. They feature a unique "drip glaze" coloring effect that blends rich light cream with rich reddish-browns. Seeing these slides for the first time immediately made us think of the famous red dirt down in the U. S. state of Mississippi, and the deep Delta Blues traditions that sprang up from it. You might also recognize this drip glaze style from vintage coffee mugs from the 1970's, when it was a popular style.

The length of these slides is 1 3/4", with an Outer Diameter of ~1 1/8" with an inner of about 3/4", sized to fit an adult's ring finger. Due to the nature of these being handmade, there may be a slight variation to the exact measurements. All of these slides have subtle variations in color, tone and shape which makes each and every one of them unique. This length is perfect for 3 and 4-string cigar box guitars.
