Blues Giants Series: Muddy Waters - Custom-engraved 2-inch Stainless Slide

We're honoring the greatest Blues artists of all time, with this collectible line of "Blues Giants" engraved stainless steel slides!

This slide (also available in the 2.5-inch cow bone variety) pays tribute to the one and only Muddy Waters, born McKinley Morganfield, the powerhouse master of the blues who is credited with establishing the Chicago Blues style in the post-WWII Windy City. He was born near the Stovall Plantation in Clarksdale, Mississippi in 1913, and was inspired by nearby bluesmen Son House and Robert Johnson. His style inspired many other blues and rock artists, including Eric Clapton, Canned Heat, Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers and countless others. One example: the Rolling Stones actually named themselves after Muddy's 1950 hit "Rollin' Stone". His impact on modern American music is hard to overstate - in 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him as #17 on their list of greatest artists of all time.

These slides are produced in very small batches, in a time-intensive process (see above) - which explains why they are priced at a premium - but guitar connoisseurs know the value of UNIQUE and DISTINCTIVE accessories such as these! We ship them in a protective cardboard tube, along with a piece of adhesive moleskin that you can cut into strips and stick inside the slide (on the bottom side, opposite the etched design) to size it to your finger. The design is infused into the metal using a special laser process, which causes a chemical change that creates a permanent, durable mark without changing the texture of the surface (no bumps or indentations). The design is quite durable and should stand up to many years of use.

Dimensions: ~1-inch outside diameter, ~0.83-inch inside diameter (use included moleskin to size it to your finger), and is 2 inches long. They are made from high-quality stainless steel.
